On the afternoon of July 15th, the 2023 PKU “M-Talents” Summer School lasted for a week came to a successful conclusion. Professor Lei Ting, the Assistant Dean of the School of Materials Science and Engineering (MSE), “M-Talents” students and teacher representatives attended the closing ceremony.
Lei Ting first summarized and reviewed the lessons and activities of the summer school. During the past few days, the fragmented individuals became a “M-Talents” family. He thanked the invited speakers for their excellent lectures, the staff for their well organization, and relevant enterprises for their supports in visiting and communicating with the students. He concluded that Chinese and foreign students had learned knowledge and built friendships through these cross-cultural exchange activities. In addition, he encouraged all students to continue pursuing knowledge and excellence in their respective fields and expressed his hope of reuniting with them in the future.
In 6 days, 8 reports were given to the students. All students visited 2 enterprises, learned Chinese, wrote calligraphy, attended the traditional Chinese music salon and other interesting activities. The students excitedly expressed their love for the summer school and gained a lot.

This “M-Talents” International Summer school has attracted nearly 100 student applications and 20 outstanding foreign students were selected from seven different countries and regions, including the U.K.,Vietnam, Hong Kong, Macao and et.al. This event is one of the key components for MSE international cooperation and communication, in line with the University's strategic initiative, i.e., the “International Strategic Year”. The success of the summer school will further enhance the international influence of MSE, PKU.
